Pick an Environmental Issue (Due Friday, April 13th!)

During this unit, you are going to pick an environmental issue that you care about and take action!  Eventually, you'll pick an elected official or other influential person to write a letter to convincing them that they should act on this issue.  First, you need to choose an issue you care about.   Explore the websites below and choose an issue.  Then, write your post about which issue you have chosen and why!

    I feel that the pollution has ben worse in the sea in the air we have time to spare but in the sea animals are dying due to oil and waists that we are just too lazy to clean up ourselves so I hope that we save the polar bears, sea otters and many more.

    My issue is littering. I feel that littering is a huge problem. It kills animals, looks bad for the community, and it just does not make sense. All you have to do is when you get home take it inside and throw your trash away. Plus it illegal, so why take the risk of getting a ticket and that cost so much. I hope we reach out to stop littering. Harrison

    Animal populations are disappearing at an alarming rate. This will come back to bite us in the butt. The world is a complex web, and if you take out one thread, the whole thing could come down. The human race is turning and blind eye, and this needs to stop! Plus baby sea otters are VERY cute.

    My subject is logging, the problem with logging is that when we cut down the trees we destroy habitats and we dont plant more trees after we cut them down.

    My issue is cleean energy for the future, because if we don't act now eveything will shut down. The minute oil runs out everything will shut off, no cars, no lights, no nothing.
    We all know we are polluting the air with the dangerous gases in the exshaust of cars and factories. Its killing everything so we need to stop now and find a better cleaner nergy source.

    I chose protecting the habitat for mule deer as my topic. It is declining, people are cutting down trees. They are getting less and less shade and food like acorns. I like animals and want to save them. Chandler P.

    I don't think people should be logging the way they are.Because if they don't replant trees then the habitats are gone forever and than if you log enough you will wipe out an entire species, and if you wipe out one species all the species in the ecosystem will be effected.Then we end up burning the logs,causing pollution, and killing more animals.We need to fix this fast because it is to late already.
