Author Interview Response (Due Friday, January 13th)

Watch the interview above; then, write a response of at least five sentences.  Your response should include your reaction to your author.  Did anything about his or her appearance surprise you?  Were you surprised by anything he or she said?  Are there any questions that you wish you could ask him or her?  What do you think your book will be about based on this interview?

  1. I was surprised by how young she was, and how young she acted. Some authors are young, but they act much older, but Veronica acted like a young person. I think that the book is going to be very good. The little bit that I have read it seems good. I think that it is going to be similar to The Hunger Games which I liked.

  2. What surprised me the most about suzanne collins was her looks. her messed up hair and yellow teeth said something about her personality, it told me that she did not care as much about her looks than her peers. It also said that she was a hard working individual and would stay up all night writing The Hunger Games. It was hard for me to create a personality or profile of her from that short, 2 minute, interview. But this neglection for personal hygiene is typical of writers. But i thought that the book did not seem as good as i had heard from my peers, and I thought the book Maze Runner seemed a lot more engaging than my first choice - Evan Wade

  3. The author of The Maze Runner was suprisingly young. I thought he would be old. He was also normal. I thought he would be gypse like. There is only one question I would like to ask. How many other books have you written? Because I would like to read them.- Harrison

  4. I didn't think she would be that young. Also, one thing that irritates me about this book and The Hunger Games is that the heroine frequently has wacky reactions to tragedy. That is very annoying. Also she seemed not that serious, and a lot of other authors are a lot more serious about their books. I think Divergent is a good book.

  5. I did not think she would be so young to write book about the hunger games. I really like the book so far. It wasn't what I expected the book to be. I thought the book was about battling but it was also about romance. Chandler Proffitt

  6. I liked how the author of hunger games in the interview talked about how she read other books and got inspired and had three rules to make a good book. So far i think the hunger games is very good i fell like i'm in the book. I would like to know were she got the names from. So far though i think the book is well put together.

  7. whell i admit i am suprised that the hunger games were based off gladeator games. i alwayes thought in the back of my mind thet the auther had ither made this from scrach or some how endured another form of this which she converted into the hunger games.
but now i am copletly smashed by the impact of thet and that all of the storys are great because you can sort of relat to the main charicter. i think that i was dead on abought the authers aperence i dint expect them to be a full ought jock or a dork that stays up all night righting. they all seemed like avredge cool people who just rote for fu and then dicovered they were amaing righters. they all seem to know what they were doing and why and were in controll the hole time.

  8. It surprised me when I saw the author of Divergent. I expected him to be a little bit younger. mostly I wouldn't ask many questions besides he got the idea to right this type of a book. Even though I chose Hunger Games over this one, I still think it would be cool to meet him. Learning how to take ideas and turn it into a book is cool, it would be fun to learn.

  9. I was surprised with the author of divergent, Veronica Roth. It was surprising how young she was. The other authors looked about 45-65 years old where as she looked like she was in her late 20s or early 30s. However, I chose the Hunger Games because everyone I know that has read it said it was extremely good. I was surprised at how much of a difference there is between Suzanne Collins' personality and the mood and plot of the Hunger Games.

  10. I like how the author of the Hunger Games got some her ideas from a book she read as a kid. I also like how she makes it like a gladiator book which has three main parts which are a powerful government, people being forced to fight, and it being a popular source of entertainment.I have read to chapter six so far and I think it is a very good book and I am looking forward to reading the other two.All and allI think Suzanne Collins is a good other
