Over Thanksgiving break, I journeyed into the world of Harry Potter with my parents and sister. We woke up early in the morning and beat (almost) everyone to Diagon Alley, the Butter Beer, and Harry's Forbidden Journey ride. The Butter Beer surpassed my expectations; it was sweet, creamy, and left a little white mustache on everyone's lip. We deliberated for quite some time about which wands to buy, and I finally settled on Hermione's green-tinged, leaf-covered one. After dueling in the alleyways, my sister and I went off to brave the other rides in the park. On Thanksgiving day, we spent time in the hot tub before enjoying a traditional feast, ordered from the local grocery store of course! It was an enchanting, memorable vacation, and I would recommend that any Harry Potter fan check out the park!
Over Thanksgiving break, I did a variety of different things. On Monday, I basically stayed home and did stuff like reading, playing video games, watching t.v, and playing basketball. On Tuesday, I went to visit at my 14-year-old neighbor's school, the Renaissance school, which is a high school. While I was there, I went to the Downtown Mall to eat lunch, and I went to her two hour yoga class, which is taught by Sam Piller's dad. The rest of the week was kind of a repeat of Monday, with the exception of hanging out with my friend.
ReplyDeleteI had a fun break, I slept in till one in the afternoon, and then went out and walked to the mall with my friends. My cousin was sleeping at my friends house and after we got lunch at the mall, I called my mom on the walk back and asked if he could stay over. She said yes and he stayed over two nights. The first night we went to sleep at around twelve or one but the second we stayed up till three in the morning until my mom came down stairs and made us go to sleep. For thanksgiving dinner we had our aunt and uncle, my mom, my grandmom, my cousin, and me. We had turkey and mashed potatos and for dessert, we ate my moms really good trifell cake. - evan

ReplyDeleteMy Thanksgiving break was amusing. The afternoon began at our friend’s house with watching the Packers beat the Lions while eating chips and salsa. After the game, I went outside with the other kids and we raced down the steep driveway on our scooters. Next came the big feast, that consisted of the usual Thanksgiving delights, and I ate a lot. Later we watched a movie and had pie. We collected sticks for a fire and raced down the driveway again in the pitch dark. Once I swerved too sharply at the bottom and ended up falling over a wall. I wasn’t hurt. I got up and kept racing. The rest of the weekend was also full of activities. We went for pizza and a movie at the Paramount on Friday evening. With my brother and other Boy Scouts, we unloaded two truckloads of Christmas trees on Saturday morning. On Sunday, I spun on the tire swing in my backyard until I could barely walk, and we took a hike at Ivy Creek. I carried my sister on my back for the last part of the trail. Our friends the Fergusons came for dinner and we played soccer in the front yard. So I had a pretty great Thanksgiving.
These are looking great, guys! Keep including all of these strong details. - Ms. W
ReplyDeleteOver Thanksgiving break I went to the beach. We left on Tuesday [the first four days were not important]. On the first day I just rode my bike and ate lots of sea food. The next day was the same. On Thanksgiving Day then I chilled, watched football, and ate lots of food. On black Friday we went shopping. On the next day we played games and left at ten. We got home at one so Sunday was sleep. ~ Harrison.
ReplyDeleteMy Thanksgiving break was not all that exciting. I pretty much stayed at home most of the time, other than that I went over to my friends house and at Thanksgiving dinner we had our neighbors over. Well partly because they took our dog for a walk and have dog sit a lot for us. My family also went on a nice hike with our dog to help us get ready for pie (also because my mom was getting sick of watching football). In all it was fun and I finally learned that being with family isn't all that bad. I can't wait till next year!
ReplyDeleteOn Monday I sat around and listened to ESPN radio the whole day. Tuesday it rained all day so I sat around all day. On Wednesday my dad had rotator cuff surgery. Around noon while dad was having surgery, mom and I went to subway and the library.Traffic was awful coming back. At 4 we came back. On Thanksgiving morning I went down the road to feed the dogs I took care.We watched the Lions game and the Cowboys game. On Friday I raked a lot of leaves, then watched the ravens game from Thursday. On Saturday from 8-12 I unloaded Christmas trees with Boy Scouts. Saturday afternoon I raked leaves. Sunday morning I went to church. Sunday afternoon I raked more leaves. I am glad to get back to school so I can stop doing manual labor.

Over Thanksgiving break, I did not do much. I drove in a car to Pennsylvania for 5 hours and 7 hours on the way back. It does not help that I was cramped into one seat next to a treadmill and Foosball table. But aside from annoying car rides, my break was fine. I ate so much turkey I felt like I was going to EXPLODE, watched the Cowboys beat the Dolphins in a very, very, close game, (The Cowboys scored a field goal in the last 3 seconds! =D) I played football with my uncle and cousins, and lastly, played Madden 12.
ReplyDeleteOver the thanks giving break my family stayed home and had two Chinese foreign exchange students over. They both were very polite and had a tight rule over the ping pong table. I gave them a run for their money every now and then, but they had refined catlike skill. The ball was barley clearing the net every time. Even though they clearly dominated the ping pong table they were no match for my gaming brilliance.
ReplyDeleteAfter ping pong we headed over to our new farm we had to cut some weeds down and They were not used to see an unsheathed machete before and they told me it was illegal to have any big knives guns or poisons in their part of china.
Aside from the Chinese over it was a normal week end type of attitude. Me and my brother Andy discovered that my mom never bothered to look on the broad side of the barn so, when it became time once again to do tedious chores, we hid in plain sight. Andy was caught on the roof due to the fact that he was giggling profusely like it was the funniest joke ever.
Over the break I went to my grandparent's house. They live on a neat farm in Esmont, VA. My uncle, my mom and dad, and my little sister were all there. On Thanksgiving Day, I played a football game, played soccer, watched a football game on T.V., and watched my 3-year old sister play the Ukelele. Then we ate turkey, salad, mashed potatoes and a dessert called a pumpkin roll, but not before the dogs ate half of it. The next day, my dad and me shot a pellet gun at targets. I liked that. I had a good time over the Thanksgiving break.
ReplyDeleteOver break I stayed home.My brother came back from college and my sister came back from boarding school. So all five of my siblings were home.My brother and I played lots of soccer. On thanksgiving day we ate lots of stuffing, turkey, bread, carots, cucumbers, salad, and pie.On Black FRiday we played a big game of pickup soccer at tandem.I also played lots of Fifa 12 over the break. All and all I had a good break.
